Risks
- The suicide tree’s seeds are highly toxic and have caused many deaths in humans. Although there are no documented cases of poisoning in dogs, caution is advised.
- The main toxic compound in the suicide tree is cerberin, a cardiac glycoside. In humans, ingestion of cerberin leads to symptoms such as vomiting, slow heart rate, and abnormal blood clotting. These effects could potentially occur in dogs as well.
