Risks
- Oleander contains numerous toxic agents, such as nerioside, saponins, and cardiac glycosides. All parts of this plant are poisonous to dogs, particularly the roots and stems, which have higher concentrations of these compounds.
- Dogs that consume oleander are likely to experience digestive issues, including vomiting and diarrhea, as well as cardiac problems like heart arrhythmia. Neurological disorders such as tremors, depression, and seizures may also occur.
- Drinking water or consuming food that contains oleander leaves or any part of the plant is enough to induce poisoning in canines.
