- All parts of the Rosary pea plant contain the toxins abrin and abric acid, with the highest concentration in the seeds. These compounds make the plant extremely poisonous to dogs.
- Consumption can cause abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, and rapid heart rate. In severe cases, it may lead to tremors and shock.
