- The ASPCA may categorize the Japanese show lily as nontoxic to dogs, but some sources say otherwise. It is said that the Japanese show lily can cause severe kidney failure if ingested. Even a small amount can be dangerous to dogs. Toxic symptoms include vomiting, loss of appetite, dehydration, lethargy, abdominal pain, collapse, and seizures.
