- Impala lilies contain powerful cardiac glycosides, similar to those found in foxglove and oleander.
- Ingestion can cause gastrointestinal distress (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), and in severe cases, it may result in heart arrhythmias or failure, which can be fatal to dogs.
- Symptoms of poisoning include excessive salivation, lethargy, abdominal pain, and in extreme cases, death due to cardiac complications.
