- Several parts of the white cedar, including the bark, leaves, berries, and flowers, contain meliatoxins. The berries have the highest concentrations of this poisonous compound.
- Ingesting this plant can cause gastric issues in dogs, such as diarrhea and vomiting. It may also lead to neurological disorders, including seizures and weakness.
