- Although most varieties of orchids are non-toxic, the slipper orchid contains compounds that make the plant mildly toxic to dogs when ingested.
- When dogs come into contact with the slipper orchid, they may experience skin irritation or contact dermatitis. It can also trigger allergic reactions in some canines.
