Risks
- The sap of the manchineel tree is highly poisonous and can be fatal to dogs. It’s also used in making poison arrows.
- All parts of the manchineel tree, including leaves, bark, and seeds, are toxic to dogs. Exposure can cause gastrointestinal distress, blisters, and temporary blindness.
- Burning the tree produces smoke that can irritate the eyes and potentially lead to vision loss in dogs.
