Risks
- Elaeocarpus refers to a genus of over 500 flowering plant species of mostly evergreen trees and shrubs, which include Eumundi quandong (Elaeocarpus eumundi). Some species, such as Elaeocarpus grandis, contain seeds and berries that are toxic to dogs and cats.
- While some species of Elaeocarpus are not toxic, they are not typically used for human or canine consumption. Certain types of Elaeocarpus plants have edible fruits but information is limited on whether these fruits are safe for dogs to eat. Exercise caution when feeding your dog fruits from any Elaeocarpus plant.
