- All parts of the cape jasmine contain poisonous compounds, including crocetin, glycosides, genioposide, gardenoside, and saponins. The highest concentrations of toxins are found in the plant’s berries, flowers, and foliage.
- If dogs ingest cape jasmine, they may experience gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea. Severe symptoms, including heart arrhythmia, convulsions, and coma, may occur if large amounts are consumed.
